The regular method doesn’t work for some reason without some extra thing to do.
The full method is given below:
1. Type the following on the terminal
sudo apt-get install ibus ibus-m17n m17n-db m17n-contrib ibus-gtk
2. Type the following on the terminal to verify if Unijoy has been installed or not.
dpkg -L m17n-db | grep bn
You will see something like the picture below and unijoy should be on the list.
3. Open “dconf-editor”, it should be in the applicaton list.
Or just type “dconf-editor
” in the terminal.
Navigate to Org > gnome > desktop > input-sources
You should see something like [('xkb', 'gb')]
or [('xkb', 'us')]
as the value.
Double click on the Sources value to change it and add ('ibus', 'm17n:bn:unijoy')
so that the value looks like below
[('xkb', 'us'), ('ibus', 'm17n:bn:unijoy')]
I have a Swedish Keyboard layout, so mine looks like,
[('xkb', 'se'), ('xkb', 'us'), ('ibus', 'm17n:bn:unijoy')]
Click anywhere else to save it and close it.
4. Restart pc.
If you don’t want to restart the restart xserver by typing the following in the terminal:
sudo restart gdm
i cant find the input-sources in that specified directory . and trerefor i cannot open a doc file typed in bijoy 52. please help. I gota study duck!

The quickest solution is to convert the text to unicode. Visit the link above and convert it.

ok but how about installing something permanent?
Install ANSI fonts. Download it from here: https://www.omicronlab.com/download/fonts/kalpurush%20ANSI.ttf
create a folder named .fonts in your home directory and paste it there.
Then load your document written in Bijoy and change the font to Kalpurush ANSI.
thanks man, it works somewhat, these bijoy thing is like shit!
