[obsolete] How to install Linux Mint 17 Qiana with Mint4Win (Wubi – Install inside Windows)

!DO NOT FOLLOW THIS! YOU CAN’T UPGRADE TO 17 (or further) IF YOU HAVE AN MINT4WIN INSTALLATION OF LINUX MINT!

Dont follow this one. This makes Linux Unstable. Rather upgrade to 16 first. Then i will try mint 17.

The Wubi and Mint4Win both were removed from Ubuntu and Linux Mint. The only way to keep using them is to install Linux Mint 15 (Olivia) and upgrade to the latest version, Linux Mint 17 (Qiana).

So, Download Linux Mint 15, mount the iso and run Min4Win.exe.
Install Linux Mint 15 normally. Then upgrade to Linux Mint 17.

This is how you should do it.

Open Terminal and enter the following commands:

sudo sed -i 's/raring/trusty/' /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo sed -i 's/olivia/qiana/' /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo sed -i 's/raring/trusty/' /etc/apt/sources.list.d/official-package-repositories.list
sudo sed -i 's/olivia/qiana/' /etc/apt/sources.list.d/official-package-repositories.list

After that, Run the following commands, one by one.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get upgrade
